For help finding what you want in the library:

With your free library card, you may borrow:
  • Books in English and other languages for all ages
  • Picture books for young children
  • Materials to help you learn English
  • Materials to help you become a U.S. citizen
  • English language audiobooks in various formats
  • Music on CD
  • Movies on DVD
  • Magazines and newspapers
  • Museum passes for free or discounted admission to local museums and zoos
When you visit the library, you may:
  • Use library computers and the Internet or bring your own device and use our free Wifi
  • Read the latest magazines and newspapers
  • Bring a child to a free storytime
  • Attend concerts, see a new art exhibit every month, and watch new movies for free at the Main Library--check our Calendar of Events for details
  • Find a quiet place to study or do homework
  • Join a group to practice your English conversation skills (call 617-376-3295 for more information)
  • Ask librarians to help find answers to questions about almost anything

Free Orientation Tours

Take a free guided walk through the Main Library with a librarian. Find out what is where in the building and discover all the things there are to read, see, listen to, and more!  Tours are provided once a month from October to May.  Check our Calendar of Events for days and times.
