Literacy Volunteers of MA-Quincy

“Life is an Open Book” – it’s never too late to learn to read. LVM-Quincy helps adults learn to read and write in a welcoming, supportive program.

LVM-Quincy is one of 34 library literacy programs in Massachusetts that provides free, one-on-one tutoring in basic reading and writing to adults. Founded by Ann McLaughlin in 1985, LVM-Quincy is an accredited affiliate of Literacy Volunteers of Massachusetts and Literacy Volunteers/ProLiteracy America. We serve adults whose reading levels range from non-reader to sixth grade level.

Our Mission

Literacy Volunteers of Massachusetts-Quincy (LVM-Quincy), a program of the Thomas Crane Public Library, provides free, private, confidential and student-centered instruction in basic reading and writing to adults in order to help them fulfill their potential at home, at work, and in the community.

LVM-Quincy collaborates with individuals, groups and organizations desiring to foster increased literacy.
